Objective: Install solar panels and battery storage to increase energy independence and reduce electricity costs.

Process Overview:

  1. Initial Contact and Consultation:
    • Discussed energy goals, current electricity provider, annual consumption, and daily property usage.
    • Evaluated roof size, shape, direction, and estimated panel requirements.
    • Offered a free, no-obligation site visit.
  2. Site Visit:
    • Inspected the roof internally and externally to ensure it could support the solar system.
    • Proposed a system of 12 solar panels and a FOX ESS hybrid system with a total of 5.8 kW storage capacity (2.9 kW master and 2.9 kW slave batteries).
  3. System Proposal:
    • Estimated annual generation: 3,700 kWh.
    • CO2 savings: 786 kg/year.
    • Financial benefits: Savings of £1,091 in the first year, with a payback period of 7 years.
    • Total cost: £8,720 (inclusive of VAT).
  4. Installation Details:
    • Required a minor upgrade to the existing fuse board.
    • Provided a detailed quote and proposal for the system.
    • Installation steps included scheduling, scaffolding, ordering equipment, performing electrical checks, and completing the installation within one to two days.
    • Post-installation, the system was commissioned and necessary authorities were notified.
  5. Additional Features:
    • Installed a SOLAR iBOOST to utilize excess energy for heating water once batteries were full.
    • The FOX ESS system allowed for energy monitoring via the FoxCloud2.0 app.
  6. Outcome:
    • Mr. & Mrs. Davison reported better-than-expected results and were highly satisfied with the system’s performance and the monitoring capabilities.
